MoveOpolis! - The Company & ContributionsThe work of MoveOpolis! is supported
by Under the Artistic Direction of Richard Move, along with the guidance of a dynamic Board of Directors and lead support provided by the Creative Capital Foundation, MoveOpolis! serves as the umbrella organization for a range of creative pursuits, with the mission to provide a supportive, nurturing infrastructure for the company’s projects, collaborators and artistic goals. The primary artistic medium of the organization is dance as a theater art. MoveOpolis! also encompasses interdisciplinary endeavors, with the aim to broaden the scope, definition and understanding of the performing arts, while expanding, educating and cultivating audiences. MoveOpolis! is a part of the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fiscal Sponsorship/Sponsored Artist's Project program and is a a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, established in 2005. Financial Contributions and In Kind donations in support of the MoveOpolis! mission and projects are most gratefully appreciated and are tax deductible. Contributions by check or money order should be made to the New York Foundation for the Arts with ‘For Richard Move/MoveOpolis!’, written on the check. MoveOpolis!
The new performance ensemble under the Artistic Direction of Richard
Move, had a World Premiere August 10-13, 2006 at the Jacobs
Pillow Dance Festival. This new program features Toward
the Delights of the Exquisite Corpse, co-commissioned by Jacobs
Pillow Dance Festival and Dance Theater Workshop, with costumes by
Patricia Field (Sex and the City, The
Devil Wears Prada), live video by maverick and pioneering artist
Charles Atlas and a sound score by writer Hilton
Als (The New Yorker). The evening also includes
Lust, Verdi Divertimento, and Dilemma,
originally created for other companies and artists and never before
